Lemonade - A reminder of summer!
Since summer is long gone, I thought that I would share with you a recipe for lemonade. It has just the right balance of lemon juice and sugar, which is sometimes tricky to get right!
The first thing you will need to do to make this delicious drink is to juice all the lemons you have. We ended up with about 2 cups of lemon juice, which made roughly two jugs of lemonade.
After juicing your lemons, add in the rest of the ingredients - for 1 cup of lemon juice, you will need 1 cup of caster sugar, 6 cups of water and LOTS of ice! Like I said - roughly, this will make 1 jug of lemonade.
You don't need to heat the sugar or anything to make it dissolve - just stir it into the lemon juice and then put in the water. It will dissolve just the same both ways!
After you have mixed everything together, put the lemonade into the fridge for a while. Once you think it is cold enough, put in lots of ice - and a few slices of lemon if you want!
Now your lemonade is ready to drink - and you can drink it with practically anything! You can make a couple of jugs for a summer party, or for a barbecue - or just for drinking anytime!
This was just what we needed on a really hot summers day, when we were all laying around indoors, too hot to do anything! It definitely cooled us down...
