Beef and Potato Pasties

These pasties are delicious and so easy to make!! They seem like they don't have enough flavour when you make them, as they've only got a few ingredients, but they are delicious. Get the whole recipe from here.

The only ingredients in the filling are beef, turnip, potato and onion, although I used swede instead of turnip and it was surprisingly good. The pastry is also very easy to make - all you do is heat the butter and water in a pan and stir in the flour and salt. But be careful when you're rolling it out - it's an extremely hot mixture!!

After you've made the filling and the hot water crust pastry, you just have to make them. Cut a circle out of the dough, and put some filling in the middle. Brush some egg wash or milk round the edge of the pastry, and fold it over. You don't have to crimp the edge, but if you want to, use a fork or your fingers.

Once your pasties are baked, they can be enjoyed as a snack or for lunch.

I like this recipe because it's super easy - and delicious! You can put pretty much any meat and any vegetable in the filling; it could even be vegetarian if you want. The possibilities are endless!
